PURPOSE:To improve the upper and lower ends of a raster and reproduce an easy- looking screen by slightly varying rhe vertical deflection magnetic field in areas diagonally facing each other on the edge of a phosphor screen, toward the pincushion distortion direction, using magnetic pieces. CONSTITUTION:A deflector 10 is provided with a horizontal deflection coil which generates a barrel type magnetic field, vertical deflection coil 13 which generates a pincushion type magnetic field, and magnetic pieces 15 which are installed in the vicinity 14 of the phosphor screen end of the vertical coil show the maximum winding angle of the vertical coil 13 along the circumferential direction, located symmetrical respectively to the horizontal direction X containing the tube axis Z and to the vertical direction Y also containing the same axis Z and perpendicular to the direction X near an axis D, and whose one end vincinity is inserted between the horizontal coil and the vertical coil 13 in the cross-section which is cut by a plane containing the tube axis. The above constitution can interupt the vertical deflection magnetic flux which is generated from the vertical coil 13 near the magnetic field 15 and change the magnetic field near the mgnetic piece 15 into the pincushion type magnetic fild from the barrel type one. |
