This invention involves a medicine, especially an ointment for the treatment of skin diseases. The ointment consists of an active substance and a pharmaceutics basis constituent, whereby according to the invention the active substance is composed of an ethanol extract from peat wax resin. The extract is produced through extraction of peat wax resin with ethanol at ethanol's boiling point.
