The energy recuperation system has a rotary turbine driven by wave motion or wind, or an expansion motor associated with a solar collector. The rotational energy is connected into electrical or heat energy via a hydraulic pump directly or indirectly. Pref. the operation of the hydraulic pump causes oil to be extracted from a reservoir and fed around a circuit containing two hydraulic motors, each coupled to an electrical alternator. The motors are pref. coupled in parallel arms of the circuit either of which can be selectively blocked, one used in summer and the other in winter. The oil is returned to the reservoir via a choke so that it is heated, with a heat exchanger recovering the calorific energy for supplying hot water etc.
