PURPOSE:To simplify the operation and enhance the response speed of the titled device by a method wherein synchronous pulses are counted, and when the counted value is equal to a predetermined value, one pulse is outputted and a gate signal is formed such that said pulse is at the center of the gate signal with respect to time. CONSTITUTION:Register marks RM1, RM2, RM3 printed at regular intervals l1 are detected by two detecting parts located with a spacing l1 therebetween. A part corresponding to time t1 shorter than the interval l1 is erased from a pulse signal S1 by a monostable multivibrator 103, and only the synchronous pulses are picked up, followed by counting by a counter 105. A counter 110 is provided which is reset by an output from the counter 105, counts (n) pulses fed from a pulse generator 3 and outputs an n1 count output, an n2 count output and an n3 count output signal with rest time therebetween. The gate signal of time tw with the reset time included therein is outputted by the n1 count output and the n2 count output. The gate signal is made to be a pick-up signal for register mark signals. |
