PURPOSE:To enable both dot printing and matrix printing with a single printer by a method wherein a dot head is arranged behind a type head and the dot head is made movable to a platen. CONSTITUTION:The dot head 13 is arranged behind the type head 12. In the matrix printing, after types are selected by the rotation and the vertical shift of the type head 12, the dot head 13 is excited, a print wire jumps out and the type head 12 is impacted at the rear thereof for printing. Then, in the dot printing, the type head 12 retreat from a print wire and a dot head 13 approaches to the platen 2. Under this situation, the printing is performed by the dot head 13. |
