The chamber consists of an electric motor with a casing contg. a ring stator. Inside the stator is a sleeve forming a mixing and/or propulsion chamber and contg. a rotor, which rotates due to electromagnetic induction, i.e. the sleeve is located in the air gap between the rotor and the stator. The rotor is located between bearings in the end caps of the motor; and both the rotor and the bearings are exposed to the fluids passing through the sleeve, which forms a seal protecting the stator from the fluids. An asynchronous motor is pref. used with a squirrel cage made of cast Al resisting corrosion. The sleeve is pref. stainless steel or PTFE; and the stator is pref. protected against corrosion by a film of polymer, varnish or enamel. Used for gases, liqs. or vapours in reactions, dispersion or dissoln.
