The spectacle frame front has wire circular shapes (14,14a,15,15a) to hold the lenses. These can be closed in position using adjacent connectors (12,13). A movable bridge (40) is fitted between the circles and grips the connection pieces and tensions the wire parts. The wire parts can have lugs to form a cheek (16) to receive a hinge fixed to one of the spectacle legs. These feet take a locking screw which tensions the wire parts and each connects the hinge of a leg. The bridge has a horizontal throat (24).
