The tool presses tough elastic sealing rings into the grooves of a body to be sealed, e.g. a piston, after insertion. It comprises a bar (1), onto which a loop of strip material (2) is wound, the ends of the latter being typically secured in a diagonal slit in the bar. There can be a tommy-bar passing through the first one transversely to form a turning handle, and the first one can be of circular cross-section. An additional pressure body can be included, fitting between the ring and the run of the strip to the outside of the bar to occupy the intervening space.
