The heat exchanger made of plastics material, is suitable for cooling towers, heat extraction from air conditioning equipment etc. It is made from two layers (4,5) with a set of semicircular section parallel channels along one face of each, focussing the heat exchanger conduits. One medium circulates through these conduits (3) and a second medium flows around the outside. The two contacting surfaces forming the joint (6) between the two layers are welded together. The pressure of the medium flowing around the outside is greater than the pressure of the medium flowing through the conduits. The channels do not extend the full length of the layers, and the remaining edge zones (7) are used for mounting the heat exchanger in a frame.
