<p>The sliding vehicle door is supported on the vehicle by a guide and drive mechanism in the form of a quadrilateral linkage. The door forms one link, and one linkage crank is formed by a supporting arm between the door and a mounting on the vehicle. A second crank controls the pivoting movement of the door in relation to the first one. This mechanism is driven by a motor. There is a slip clutch between this motor and the mechanism, while a second motor and mechanism on the door frame, or the door proper, thrusts the door, once moved into the frame, into the locked position, and works with a stop. The second motor is switched on by a limit switch, as the door moves into the frame, and off by a second limit switch actuated by its thruster mechanism.</p> |
