<p>The self inflating rescue raft safety line has a main line (17) with a high breaking point linked between the raft and a release tag (10) operated by a water pressure valve (11). A loop of low breaking point line (22) is linked between the body of the valve and the attachment loop (19) of the main line, to release the raft if the vessel sinks. The raft is lashed to its cradle (2,3) by a belt (6) linked to the release tag by a slip hook (9). This allows the crew to release the belt and drop the raft over the side, securely tied to the main line. If the vessel sinks the water valve opens the release tag and the low breaking strain line releases the main line.</p> |
