The switch consists of a housing (10), an operating rocker (11), a switch unit (12), a base plate with connector pins and a contact bridge. The housing (10) is rectangular base-shaped and is split internally into two chambers, the main one of which is formed by two converging walls and contains the switch unit (12) and the other contains an indicator lamp. An extension piece (40) which is square-shaped enters the main chamber from beneath the rocker arm (11) through the dome-shaped top of the chamber (29). This extension piece (40) is part of the rocker arm moulding and fits in a square section channel which is connected to the switch member (12). Two projections moulded beneath the surface of the rocker arm (11) one straight and one curved, have chamfered ends which form a tight rubbing seal with the dome-shaped top (31) of the switch chamber. This forms an improved seal to exclude dust, etc. from the switch mechanism.
