A distributor unit for supplying pulverized solid fuels to furnaces comprises a housing (1) in which a rigid-vaned fan (2) is housed. The pulverized solid fuel passes into the housing (1) through a concentric inlet aperture 5 in which adjustable air intake apertures (13) are provided to enable air to be admixed with the fuel prior to atomization by the fan (2). Additional air can also be admitted from below the fan through adjustable apertures (8) provided around the hub (3) of the fan. Tangentially arranged conduits (6) are provided with manually adjustable deflector valves (7) so that the pulverized solid fuel projected by the fan can be supplied in controlled quantities to different zones of the furnace through associated combustion nozzles, thus achieving the desired calorific value of heat in the appropriate zones of the furnace. <IMAGE> |
