The invention relates to a blocking pin of a cylinder lock, which serves for ensuring a higher security of the insert locks of the pin system. The previous use of blocking pins does not sufficiently ensure absolute security against an opening of the cylinder lock. The invention achieves a new version of the blocking pin, with the result that greater security against the opening of the insert of the lock is ensured, this being achieved in that the two ends of the pin are of conical shape and are formed from cone sides at the angle alpha in such a way that, during rotation, the two cone sides rest with the entire generatrix against the wall of the orifice in the body of the insert. The advantages of the version according to the invention reside primarily in the increased security of the lock, so that the possibility that the lock will be opened by the reciprocal use of a similar type of closure on the key is eliminated. The two-sided conical blocking pin according to the invention can be used on all types of locks which employ a pin system.
