PURPOSE:To avoid the reduction in resolutuion even with increased picture quality for smoothness, by processing such as of interpolation or deletion only to a limited unit picture element. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal transmitted from an input signal is sequentially stored in memories 2a-2c by one line's share of 1/8mm. scale of picture element. The data by three line's share, line Yi including objective video element X, reference lines Yi-1,Yi+1 before and after it, are given to a comparison processing circuit 3, for the processing of one line's share. The data after this processing is given to one line's share memory 4b of 1/16mm. unit picture element to form the data of yi2 line corresponding to the lower half on the data of a large picture element Yi line. On the other hand, the data given from the memory 2b of the Yi line directly to the 1/16mm. unit picture element one line memory 4b, is stored as it is, as the data of yi1 line corresponding to the upper half the Yi line. |
