PURPOSE:To enable the repeated application of a high frequency region without being affected by the load applied to a test piece by the provision of an actuator having a movable member, and a rigid tubular connecting member surrounding the test piece. CONSTITUTION:The connecting member 11 is caused to slide rightward along the outside surface of an intermediate member 9 to clamp test piece 6 with a pair of test piece clamps 5 and 8. The connecting member 11 is moved leftward to fix the stationary part 2a of an actuator 2 and the intermediate member 9. Then, the actuator 2 is driven by the operation of an electric servo valve 3 to subject the test piece 6 to high frequency compression-extension loading test. During the test, the connecting member 11 is subjected to the repeated application of a bending force, however, the connecting member 11 will not be deformed, owing to its tubular construction and its high rigidity. Furthermore, the resonance point can be raised greatly owing to the tubular form of the connecting member 11 so that material tests in a high frequency region are allowed. |
