摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To roll a steel pipe having wall thickness just meeting an aimed value, by setting the screw position for a steel pipe to be rolled next, according to specified elements such as measured size of a caliber, total length of already rolled steel pipes. CONSTITUTION:A hot rolling mill used in manufacturing a steel pipe by the rolling work, simultaneously rolls both of inner and outer surfaces of a steel pipe with a rolling roll having a caliber and a rolling plug held at the middle zone of the caliber; in this hot rolling mill, the screw position is set for a steel pipe to be rolled next according to specifid elements as follows; measured size of the caliber of a caliber roll; total length of steel pipes alreay rolled by this caliber; size of used rolling tools; characteristic value showing a relative position of the rolling tool against the caliber roll during the rolling work; and rolling load predicted for rolling work thereby. The next rolling work is then carried out with thus set screw position.</p>
