PURPOSE:To enhance the handling property of an air purifier by facilitating the control of a wind generating amount and dust collection capacity, by making the support frame of an ionization electrode freely slidable. CONSTITUTION:An opposed electrode 2 is provided to the leeward side of ioniza tion electrodes 1a, 1b to enable the application of high voltage from a high voltage generation part 3 between these electrodes. Herein, the single side of the ionization electrode 1a is the side wall 6 of a support frame 5 being an insulating substance and the potential inclination between the side wall 6 and the ionization electrode 1a becomes different by the distance therebetween. Therefore, for example, when the side wall 6 is formed so as to be made freely slidable and the distance between the side wall 6 and the ionization electrode 1a is made long corresponding to the extent of a room or contamination of air, a wind amount becomes much and, if said distance is made short, the wind amount is reduced and, therefore, the adjustment of the air amount becomes easy. Because the load of each ionization electrode can be made uniform, the service life thereof is uniformized.
