PURPOSE:To provide a high-strength plate material consisting of defectless fine crystals by superposing plural sheets of >=1 kinds of thin sheets formed by plating Rh to Pt, Pt-Rh, Pt-Ir, Pt-Ru or Pt-Au subjected to hot or cold rolling and subjecting the superposed sheets to hot press welding, cold press welding or diffusion joining. CONSTITUTION:>=1 Kinds of the materials formed by plating the Rh to the Pt, Pt-Rh, Pt-Ir, POt-Ru or Pt-Au subjected to hot or cold rolling are superposed and the superposed sheets are subjected to hot press welding, cold press welding or diffusion joining to a prescribed thickness. The plate material which has no blowholes and pinholes, has no inter-layer recrystallization and has a fine crystal grain size and high strength is obtd. The composite material of the noble metal to be used for a crucible, glass fiber bushing, etc. is thus produced.
