PURPOSE:To apply the titled control to a remote control record player by providing an inhibiting device which inhibits the leading-in operation of a tone arm if play starting operation is done without a record disk on a turntable. CONSTITUTION:A record-presence discriminating member 27 which discriminates whether a record disk is mounted on a turntable or not is fitted freely rotatably on a shaft 28. This member 27 is equipped with a projection part 27a which projects to over a turntable surface and a rotary part 27b which rotates as the projection part 27a moves up and down and unless any record disk is mounted, a selection lever 12 moves to a position which corresponds to the rest position of a tone arm 2 while its projection part 12a engages with none of hook parts 14a-14c of a restraint member 14. |
