PURPOSE:To reduce the copy working time and the system discontinuing time and to increase the capability, by executing the copying work during in failure of a duplication control table with control of a control memory in a large-capacity storage system. CONSTITUTION:A large-capacity storage control device 2 is connected to a CPU1, and a disk control device 3 of a large-capacity storage system is controlled by the device 2. Then a disk device 4 including a duplication control table that so far working, and a disk device 5 to be used newly as a control table are connected to the device 3. In case a fault arises at a device 4 of one side, a copy request which is detected by the CPU1 and can designate the device 5 is produced. In this case, an instruction is given to a cartridge selection part 6 from the device 2, and the information given from the device 4 by the control of a control memory stored at the cartridge position prescribed previously to a copy data cartridge is applied to a data selection part 7. Then the information is given to the device 3 based on the information given from the part 7. |
