PURPOSE:To allow a cylindrical body or magnets not to rotate, by arranging a group of electromagnets radially inside the cylindrical body and means for supplying power to each electromagnet, and selecting such a method of supplying power to each electromagnet as rotating only the intensity of the magnetic force lines on the cylindrical body. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical body 12 is fixed under a hopper 13 filled with a magnetic toner 12 apart from a dielectric drum 1 by a little space. Eletromagnets 15 are radially arranged inside the cylindrical body 14, and each electromagnet is connected to a lead wire. When power is fed first from the first output terminal Q1, a transistor Tr1 is turned on, each electromagnet is excited, and the magnetic toner 12 is selectively attracted magnetically to the corresponding position on the sleeve 14. When power is fed from the second output terminal Q2 after shifting, the magnetic toner 12 rotates clockwise, thus permitting only the magnetic force intensity distribution to rotate without rotation of the sleeve 14 and the magnets 15, and the structure of the developing device to be made simple. |
