PURPOSE:Titled composition excellent in water-dispersibility, water resistance, electrical resistance and arc resistance, comprising a melamine-formaldehyde resin powder having a specified turbidity point and a specified particle size. CONSTITUTION:A melamine-formaldehyde resin powder is obtained by melting a melamine-formaldehyde resin, turbidity point 40-80 deg.C, obtained by reacting 1mol of melamine with 1.2-6mol of formaldehyde to heighten the turbidity point to 120-300 deg.C, and pulverizing the resulting resin to 50-500mesh. The obtained resin powder is mixed with PVA, starch or the like to obtain a binder composition. USE:Reinforcing agent for paper processing, wet-strengthening agent for fibers, binders for gypsum boards. |
