PURPOSE:To securely supply an ink to a printing end face of a wire even when the wire is repeatedly operated at high speeds by a method wherein a passage for the ink is provided behind a wire guide in a specified manner and a plate for recovering scattered ink is provided behind the passage with a space therebetween. CONSTITUTION:When the ink is fed to a feed port 59 through a feed pipe 58 by a pump or the like, the ink impinges upon a wall surface 66 of a passage which is connected to bypaths 61, 62 and a passage 50 for the ink. The main flow of the ink enteres the bypaths 61, 62, while a small pulsating flow having a lowered pressure enteres the passage 50, and the passage 50 is filled with the ink by, e.g., the attractive force of capillary action generated at a small gap between the bypaths 61, 62. Further, by the plate 56 for recovering the ink provided behind the guide 53 with the passage 64 therebetween, the flow in the passage 50 is interrupted and the ink scattered when the wire 51 returns to a stand-by position is recovered. The thus recovered ink is discharged via a discharge port 60 through a passage 65 for recovery. The ink in the passage 50 is supplied to the printing end face of the wire 51. |
