<p>A fabric-painting frame, capable of holding a length of fabric, esp. silk, under tension during the painting operation comprises two, pref. telescopic, side pieces with a rotatable beam at each end thereof which can be locked in position by a pawl and ratchet device. Each beam consists of two hollow metallic bars of square section fastened together by releasable bolts, having a high-friction lining of the mating surfaces, between which the end of the fabric can be clamped. The clamping method does not damage the fabric and produce additional waste. The tension can be easily regulated, during the painting operation if necessary, and patterns or designs which are longer than the frame itself can be executed by advancing the fabric gradually from one beam to the other.</p> |
