A process is disclosed for the purification of an inert or non-reacting gas such as lower mono-olefins by the removal of trace amounts of reacting impurities such as carbon dioxide therefrom, comprising passing the gas through an essentially non-aqueous liquid solution of alkali or alkaline earth metal hydroxides and/or weak acid salts and certain selected liquid polyhydric alcohols. |
