If the ventilation in animal stalls fails, an alarm signal is intended to be triggered if a maximum, adjustable differential value between the indoor temperature and outdoor temperature is exceeded. The indoor and outdoor temperatures are measured using temperature probes (1, 2). The minimum and maximum room temperatures to be monitored and the permissible temperature difference can be adjusted on adjusting resistors (3, 4, 5). If the room temperature falls below the set minimum value, then an operational amplifier (6) trips and triggers an alarm signal. If the room temperature and the difference between the room temperature and outdoor temperature rise above the set values, then the operational amplifiers (7, 8) trip and trigger the alarm signal via a logic element (9). <IMAGE>
