PURPOSE:To increase power generating efficiency by introducing an exhaust gas from a fuel electrode into a separating chamber, mixing CO2 separated with a CO2 permselective membrane from the exhaust gas with the air, supplying the mixture to an oxygen electrode, and supplying H2 and CO in the exhaust gas to the fuel electrode again. CONSTITUTION:Although fuel gas (a) is exhausted after cell reaction, unreacted H2 and CO, and CO2 which is reaction preduct are contained in an exhaust gas (b). The exhaust gas is introduced into a separating chamber 5 partitioned with a CO2 permselective membrane 4. The permselective membrane 4 is nonporous polymer film made of polydimethylsiloxane for example, and only CO2 in the exhaust gas selectively permeates through the membrane, and is completely separated from H2 and CO in the exhaust gas. The permeated CO2 is mixed with fresh air with a blower 3 and supplied to an oxygen electrode P. The H2 and CO are supplied again to a fuel electrode N through a recycling passage 6 to use as a part of fuel gas. Chemical energy in the fuel gas is fully converted into electric energy. |
