<p>A high-speed spindle assembly for textile machinery, having a pair of spindle bearings within a housing which is attached to the spindle rail via an intermediate tubular support, has, between the housing and the surrounding support, vibration- damping components comprising a resilient element at one end of the support connecting it radially and axially with the housing. At the level of the lower end of the support, an oil bath is contained within an annular space between the housing and the lower end of the tubular support. Additional resilient elements in the form of springs, pads, opposed magnetic poles, etc. may be arranged radially at regularly-spaced intervals around the housing. This arrangement enables higher spindle speeds to be attained, of up to 20000 rpm. for yarn packages of about 800g. or correspondingly higher speeds for smaller packages.</p> |
