The high pressure piston pump delivery valve has an outside ring which supports the valve. The ring has a groove around the outside which connects with the passage. The fluid pressure through the passage onto the seat maintains a sealed face on the valve. The width of the outer face to the ring is greater than the width of the inner face. The valve seat is also fitted with the same circular groove at the base of the holes. The valve is held by a helical spring.
