<p>A cooking aid comprises a set of thermally insulating blocks or pads for enclosing a cooking vessel which has been filled and brought to temp. so that cooking proceeds to completion using retained heat instead of maintaining the temp. of the uninsulated pot. Saves energy without extending cooking periods. The blocks may be of heat-resistant fabric packed with glass wool or expanded polystyrene. Alternately the insulation is provided by a double walled evacuated enclosure. Pref. the insulation blocks, or enclosures, are portable.</p> |
