PURPOSE:To appropriately control air conditioning, by installing a gas detector on a rear package tray or the like in an automobile room to surely detect the contamination of the air in the room due to smoking or the like. CONSTITUTION:A gas detector 1 comprises a gas sensor 1a, a temperature compensator 1b, a gas detector power source, an A/D converter 3, a microcomputer unit 4 and an output amplifier 5. The gas detector 1 is mounted on rear package tray 7 near the inlet grille 9 of an air cleaner. According to this constitution, a sufficient output level can be attained for the output voltage Vs of the gas detector 1 both in the circulation of inside air and in the introduction of outside air. Even when air is supplied by an air conditioner, the gas detector 2 is not affected by the orientation of the air outlet port of the air conditioner so that the sufficient outlet level can be also attained for the output voltage Vs. |
