PURPOSE:To achieve an automatic inspection of flaws, stain and the like the mouth side of bottles at a high speed by detecting a light horizontally reflected from the mouth thereof according to the irradiated light with a primary camera to determine the qaulity thereof. CONSTITUTION:The mouth of a bottle 2 being moved with a conveyor 1 is irradiated slantly from above by a light source 3. The horizontally reflected light from the bottle mouth is received by a primary camera 4 made up of image sensor groups which is controlled with a controller 5 and light emitting and receiving elements 7 and 6 and 9 and 8 for detecting the timing for starting and finishing scanning or the like. Video signals from the camera 4 are identified with an indentifying circuit 10 to detect stain, flaws and the like on the side of the mouth of a bottle and then, the rejected bottles are discharged through a rejector 12. The quality is inspected on the mouth side of the bottles automatically at a high speed. Greater effect can be obtained by arranging many pairs of the light sources and cameras and setting up a light shielding plate on the opposite side of the camera. |
