The fluidisation cooler is esp. for combusted gases, containing solid and steam-like impurities. The cooler contains an air heater unit, which is divided into two groups. One group is formed by air heaters of the first stage (9),thin the fluidised bed. The second group is formed by an air heater of the second stage (10), which is located below the fluidised bed, on the floor (3) of the cooler. The air heater unit and a water evaporator (6) form zones of different heat exchanger temperatures within the fluidised bed. Nozzles for the gas to be cooled pass through the cooler floor and the air heater.
