PURPOSE:To oxideze CO gas to make it harmless at ordinary temperature by using an oxidative catalyst for removing CO, obtained by supporting silver permanganate on a support consisting of a water-swelling synthetic mica series mineral and a transition metal compound. CONSTITUTION:As an oxidative catalyst for carbon monoxide present in the air, etc., a catalyst, obtained by supporting silver permanganate on a composite support consisting of a water-swelling synthetic mica-series mineral, e.g., Na-Taeniolite, etc., and a hydroxide or oxide of a transition metal, e.g., Cu, Ag, etc., is used. The catalyst is widely used because it can oxidize Co to make it harmless at ordinary temperature with high efficiency. |
