<p>The application is typically to vertically mounted, outdoor type SF6 h.v switchgear. To save on installation and also on mfg. costs the circuit breaker base contains all the ancillary equipment associated with the operating mechanism for the switch contacts. The base is of box frame construction with a horizontal dividing wall (12). This separates the base into an upper and lower compartment (14,16) and also adds stiffness. The low pressure reservoirs (22,24) for the hydraulic operating fluid are an integral part of the base. The wall (12) is used as a support for mounting the various individual equipment items e.g the pressure pump (18), hydraulic reservoir (46), driving cylinder (48) and various auxiliary switches and operating valves.</p> |
