Television camera with electronic viewfinder

A portable television camera (1) is equipped with an additional electronic viewfinder (7), the occular section (7a) of which, in use, protrudes from the housing of the recording camera perpendicularly to the longitudinal centre axis of the camera. The electronic viewfinder is horizontally pivotably mounted on the top of the camera housing so that the protruding or projecting occular section can be moved over the top of the camera housing in the rest position. In one embodiment, a viewfinder holder (60) with two L-shaped sections (8 and 10, respectively) exists for attaching the electronic viewfinder, and the threaded bore provided on the underside of the camera housing for joining it to the handle (4) is used for mounting the holder. This embodiment is particularly useful in camera housings which are not prepared for attaching an electronic viewfinder. The electronic viewfinder can be used in connection with a shoulder rest (50) which is attached to the underside of the camera housing but it can also be used without this shoulder rest. <IMAGE>
