A drawing-in and drawing-out device for drag cables of drag lifts is provided with a restoring spring for the drag cable drum, on which the drag cable is spirally wound up, and with a centrifugal brake for the drag cable drum, having at least one centrifugal weight. In order to adapt the braking action in both directions to the specific requirements which arise, on the one hand, from the need for the skier to start off without any jerking and, on the other hand, from the need to avoid striking of the drawn-in T-bar, and in order to increase the difference in the braking action during reeling out and reeling in, the application of the centrifugal weight or weights, or of the components connected to them, on a housing inner wall automatically takes place over brake surfaces or brake linings of a higher coefficient of friction during drawing-out of the drag cable than during drawing-in of the drag cable. <IMAGE>
