Metal block thermostat - has reaction vessels automatically inserted and withdrawn by spring mechanism after standard period

A set of reaction vessels for heating a standard time at constant temp. in a metal block thermostat with apertures to receive the vertically mobile vessels engaged in a transverse support plate which moves them simultaneously and automatically into or out of these apertures. The plate is raised/lowered by the force of springs which surround vertical lifting rods and can be locked in place. The locking catches may be actuated by a separate spring and their action controlled by an adjustable timer. Used in measuring processes such as determn. of chemical oxygen demand (COD), and avoids the inaccuracies resulting from manual handling.
