The suction head (2) is fitted to one end of a hose section (5) the other end of which forms a connection fitting (6) for the suction hose. Respective arms (9,10) of a two-armed lever linkage are attached to the suction head (2) and the suction hose connection fitting, the pivot axis of the lever linkage lying in a plane parallel to the suction plane (B-B) of the suction head, halfway between the latter and the suction hose connection fitting. Pref. the suction head comprises a T-shaped tube section with the transverse arm (3) supporting a conical suction housing (1) which can pivot relative to the suction head. The suction head is designed to allow easy adjustment for cleaning both horizontal and vertical surfaces.
