The ice skating boot can be converted into a roller skating boot by the attachment of two pairs of rollers to the runner of the skate. The runner (11) has bores (32,33,34) which are distributed over the length of the runner at a distance from each other so that one axial bolt each can be inserted through each bore and be fixed in a defined position relative to the longitudinal centre plane of the runner (11). One running roller each can then be installed one either side of the runner. At least one of the rollers forming part of the front pair of rollers and located near to the ooint of the runner is equipped with a reverse run lock and this is normally fitted to the outer roller of the front pair of rollers.
