The hypodermic syringe for extracting blood samples has a hollow extraction needle (10) connected by an adaptor (13) to the nozzle (19) of the syringe (20). The adaptor has an enlarged end (16) holding a block (17) with a tapered hole (18) through it, matching the slope of the nozzle. Retained adjacent to this block is a self-closing valve element (23). This is formed by a metal strip with an end (23b) bent over, and the other end (23a) clamped between the block and the stepped end (24) end surface (22) of a nose (21) projecting from the inner end of the block. The valve element operates inside a chamber (25) formed by the stepped end of the adaptor. |
