<p>For training purposes, the tank is equipped with two T.V. cameras coupled to the gunnery sight and the commanders sight respectively, each via an optical adaptor. Both cameras are connected to a change-over unit which in turn is connected to a telemetry transmitter inside the tank, the system supplied by an on-board power supply. A telemetry receiver, situated in the command post, is coupled to a T.V. display unit (large screen monitor), plug video recorder for later analysis of the training exercise. Signals originating from the tank weapon and observation systems are fed to the changeover unit via a number of inputs indicating the operational condition of these systems. A multi-position switch on the change-over unit enables a device to be made of the required control program, whereby, both operating personnel can be constantly monitored, the data displayed on the command post screen.</p> |
