MOISTENING AND BLASTING METHOD IN BLAST FURNACE

PURPOSE:To generate cheaply and efficiently water vapor in the blasting system of the blast furnace without the supply of it from the outside, by vaporising the water sucked up by water absorbing porous body rods in a main blastpipe by the sensible heat of the air pressurized and heated by a blower. CONSTITUTION:A lot of porous body rods 6 are dipped in water in the water tank 1 which is installed in the lower part of the main blast pipe 2 and of which the water level is automatically controlled. Water is sucked up through the water absorbing porous body 7 of the rod 6 such as e.g. glass wool or the like and heated and vaporized in the part that is in contact with the blast air.
