<p>An apparatus for reorienting liquid filled pouches during movement thereof, thereby changing the direction of travel of the pouches while the same are moving from one location to another, the pouches being of the type which include a lateral and longitudinal axis and a liguid filled corner portion adapted so as to interact with the apparatus for aiding in the reorientation operation, the apparatus comprising a pouch transfer surface positioned such that when a pouch is placed upon the surface it will move over the surface under the influence of gravity, the apparatus further including guide means for guiding the pouches successively onto the surface in a manner to ensure the pouch corner is introduced onto the surface in such a way it will properly interact therewith to reorient the pouch while moving the pouch, the guide means thereby co-operating with the pouch and the transfer surface to reorientate and guide the pouch as it moves over the surface in a direction of travel in common with the longitudinal axis thereof and ensure the pouch is discharged from the transfer surface in a selected manner.</p> |
