PURPOSE:To display various indications with a fewer number of circuit elements, by selecting either of a decoder comprising circuit elements or decoding based on microinstructions and displaying the data. CONSTITUTION:A display signal 1 decoded by a display decoder 2 comprising circuit elements is given to a selecting circuit 5. On the other hand, the display signal 1 which is decoded in an operation circuit 13 based on the microinstructios from program memory is given to the selecting circuit 5. The selecting circuit selects one display signal of the two, and drives a driven 3. For example, digits from 0-9 or days of the week are displayed on a display 4 having an optical display element. Thus, a decoder for days of the week indication and a decoder for the indicator can be omitted, and the various indications can be displayed by a fewer number of circuit elements. |
