PURPOSE:Ginseng is specifically heat treated to produce high-quality reddened ginseng. CONSTITUTION:Reddened ginseng is produced by treating it with heat wherein it is transmittently sprayed with hot water or treated with steam after dipped in warm water. The temperature of the warm water is preferably 90 deg.C or lower and that in the steam treatment is preferably 70 deg.C or higher. Usually, ginseng is imported after primary processing and drying and the quality is best at that time. When ginseng is converted into the reddened product, this process gives 1A products in higher than 90% yield. |
