<p>The grooved disc which carries the yarn is fitted with a leather liner to act as a brake pad against a static perlite cast iron plate, and the axial pressure on the disc shaft operates through a dynamometer spring and a compensating linkage. Should the tension on the yarn be varied then the dynamometer spring will detect the shift and the compensating linkage will equalise the pressure on the disc shaft. The cast iron plate is heat-conductive to lead off the heat generated by the friction of the leather liner on it.</p> |
