PURPOSE:To prevent corona discharge by forming a specific number of continuous lengthwise grooves on the outer circumference of an aluminum blank wire, etc., of the outermost layer of steel core aluminum strand (ACSR) used as a high-voltage transmission line. CONSTITUTION:On the outer circumference of >=30% the number of wires constituting the outermost layer of a compound strand obtained by stranding aluminum blank wires or aluminum alloy blank wires around a core, >=3 pieces of grooves are formed continuously in the lengthwise direction of the blank wires. Therefore, even if raindrops are formed on the surface of the ACSR in case of a rainfall, there is at least one groove on the external exposed surface of the outermos layer of the ACSR, so the water flows along the groove and the semispherical drops disappear, thus preventing the generation of corona discharge. |
