The cover, which is produced by a semicircular punching from a tubular film, and which is provided with a gripping edge, is designed to be applied on liquid surfaces, especially paint and the like, standing in half- emptied cans. Covering prevents evaporation from the surface and hence incrustation with resultant wastage of material. The cover device can also simultaneously serve as printed advertising material. <IMAGE>
